World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading (Articlescad.com)

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

item upgrade upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be inserted. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item upgrader can be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrade a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a problem, as it can cause the item level upgrade to become more expensive if you don't need it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do so. The item will be replaced by a brand new one that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded multiple times and increases the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version can be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each when you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
