World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a significant possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin upgrade items Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item upgrades. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes in the area around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should put their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When an individual player upgrade a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or does not swim as dolphins). The item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal as well as the required strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear, which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item it has a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to go to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any attack damage increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require an individual amount of ingredients for upgrading.
