World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a widely used measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment, players can compare the level of an item. It's a measure of the item's damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a seller is possible using the item level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, as well as its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of the item's level is carried out. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by formulas that determine the value of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This can lead to a calculated item's ilvl that is typically very close to Blizzards actual item level.

However, this is not the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, since the size of the area the item level upgrade dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas items with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to differentiate them by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item or an item that has a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attachments, or pick which stats to increase. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis and the interface for comparing items will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is more useful for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability that increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that is able to deal damage by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of that Best item upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

The upgrade overlays for items are displayed above items in the inventory. This may block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (Suggested Webpage) CORE client config.
