How To Explain Item Upgrader To Your Grandparents
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to an item are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its basic stats improve in value. This value is the total of all of its upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is capped at the lower levels). Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a sign of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the level of the item.
On PC, you are able to view the item level using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are many theories about how the item level is determined. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated by an equation that determines the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is typically close to Blizzard's real item level.
However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the size of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.
Item Stats
Item stats can make or break an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's skill.
Item upgrades add to that by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A white or grey Best item upgrade, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns), or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.
In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item or a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that can be modified by adding the option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, this will have to be done per item upgrader mod (Full Posting) and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is thus more useful in the early game than later ones because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor, and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140.
Additionally some items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought in the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..
The success of an item upgrade is also affected by the luck of the item. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5percent.
It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
