World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a measure of the damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a vendor.

On your PC, you can view the item upgrading level by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets add to the overall value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's actual item level.

This isn't the only thing that affects the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modification that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines its cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and are available in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other methods of rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat, or reroll affixes. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat within the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or deciding which stats to enhance. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for Best item upgrade comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment earlier in the game, and is therefore more useful in early game runs than in later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, shields, and armor can be created or spawned using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to increase the value of 40 luck or to increase the luck of the item to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be found in the shop or created using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item upgrader the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
