9 . What Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's stats base increase when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all the leveled up perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be altered to upgrade an item.
It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to determine a gating condition when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average item level is listed on the character sheet.
The level of an item will allow players to compare the strength of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it will be capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item's level.
On PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines how much an item's stats are worth. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This can lead to an item's ilvl which is calculated and is usually very close to Blizzard's real level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, because the level of the region the item dropped in can change the value of its stats, such as by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The base stats of a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modifications, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A grey or white item for instance, can only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.
Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by adding a name.
Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the specified range, unless it's an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to boost. Similar to base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items as well as the properties generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more beneficial in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of the item up to 140.
Moreover some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.
The performance of an can be affected by the luck of that item. Each item has a success rate of 25 percent and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.
Note that item upgrades are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects can be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the item upgrader (Securityholes.science) CORE client config.
