The irobot roomba for pets Combo i5/i5+ robotic vacuum and mop is designed to clean your floors in just one step. The cutting-edge system for cleaning goes beyond vacuuming and sweeping to remove dust and microscopic particles to give you the cleanest floors.
The Combo i5/i5+ is compatible with any Alexa-, Siri-, or Google Assistant enabled device1. You can initiate, stop, or plan cleaning sessions by speaking to your voice. It also can detect the unique layout of your home and create an intelligent Map to help you get a better clean. The app allows you to create "Keep Out Zones" that prevent the robots from circling specific areas, like the pile of cables or pet waste.
The advanced navigation system of this Roomba is a combination of iRobot Precision Vision navigation and cameras that recognize objects from the home and obstacles. The cameras enable it to bypass common barriers such as cords socks, shoes backpacks, pet toys, and deploy customized cleaning around them. The Combo i5/i5+ has the patent-pending Dirt Detect technology which allows the robot to pay more attention on dirty spots.
The robot's auto-emptying Clean Base can store up to 60 days of debris and it reduces the requirement for manual maintenance. It also comes with a recharge-and-resume feature that sends the robot to its homebase for charging when its battery runs out. It can then pick up right where it left off.
While the i5+ is a fantastic robot for most homes It's important to keep in mind that it's not made for rooms with carpets or stairs. It's a tiny dustbin, so it won't clean the entire house if there is lots of debris or pets. If you're seeking a Roomba capable of handling more difficult environments, you should consider the i7 or i9 models. These models are better equipped to tackle stairs, and can also be used to mop wet areas. The iRobot Combo i5/i5+, with its distinctive design and cutting-edge technology, is an ideal choice for homes who need both a vacuum cleaner and mop.
irobot robots Roomba Combo i7
This high-end model offers top-of-the-line features and performance that should help it attract buyers away from the vast majority of budget competitors. The most notable upgrade is the automatic dirt disposal that eliminates the need for a dustbin after every clean. The i7+ also has persistent mapping which lets it keep track of the design of your home and adapt to various floor plans in a matter of minutes.
The Combo i7+ is easy to set up, thanks to an easy app walkthrough as well as clear instructions on screen that guide you through the initial configuration and registration process. After the robot has been registered, you can use the iRobot Home app or voice commands to instruct it to mop or vacuum. The i7+ can be easily programmed and allows you to set up cleaning schedules and establish virtual boundaries.
In our tests, we discovered that the i7+ was able to climb over rugs, floor breaks, and other obstacles easily. It was able to recognize furniture and other obstructions without issue. However, it couldn't overcome a 2 inch marble slab that separated the kitchen and living room. Its edge cleaning was also much better than the results we experienced from budget robot vacuums, with a strong grip on corners.
When the i7+ has reached its maximum capacity, it goes back to its Clean Base and empties its contents. Then it gets ready for the next clean. You can add cleaning fluid by pressing a button on the opposite side of the robot. A small water tank/dustbin will then be clipped open.
The only issue is that the Clean Base takes up a significant amount of space, making it difficult to store the i7+ away in a closet if it's not being used. But, this is a common issue with robots cleaning and most manufacturers offer smaller charging stations that are smaller. These stations are usually capable of fitting under cabinets and make it easier to conceal your iRobot when it is not in use. iRobot has reached out to us following publication to clarify that the Combo i7+ is designed to be used only with the manufacturer-approved cleaning solution (sold separately). It should not be filled with water, which can cause damage to internal components and decrease the performance.
iRobot Roomba Combo i9
This robot vacuums and mops at the same time. It uses its dual stainless steel arm to pick up dirt while it moves. It also lowers its mop pad when it detects a carpet to avoid getting the rugs wet, which is a nice feature. This feature, dubbed Dry Rug Intelligence by iRobot was a great success in my tests and was a huge improvement over older Roomba models, which could only vacuum or mops without switching modes.
The iRobot app lets you create an agenda for cleaning and access the history and status updates. The app also includes "robot health" information, like the length of time your iRobot will run before it requires a new pad or filter. The app also includes detailed instructions, troubleshooting tips advanced settings for adjusting the mopping water level as well as the number of mopping cycles per floor, and much more.
IRobot's new navigation system lets the i8 to map its way around your home. Additionally, it can get around obstacles like power cords with ease. The navigation system is also able to adjust its cleaning route according to the different floors. However, if you have a very large home, it may take the i8 several runs to complete its mapping process.
Another advantage of this robot is that it works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri. This means that you can operate the robot using your voice which is a great option for busy people. This is a very useful feature for those who have to clean their homes regularly and efficiently.
The iRobot i8 is able to connect to smart home devices and can also work with the iBraava Jet M6, a mop that is set to automatically begin sweeping when the i8 finishes vacuuming. The i8 comes with a Clean Base Automated Dirt disposal unit and an additional HEPA filter.
This is iRobot’s latest flagship vacuum, and the most efficient yet. It has a larger internal dustbin, can maneuver more easily over rugs, and can detect more dirt on all floor kinds. The i9 is also able to recognize different rooms, and alter its cleaning schedule automatically. This makes it more efficient than earlier models. The i9 also has more advanced mopping features, such as deep cleaning and spot mopping.
Roomba i9+ by iRobot
The Roomba i9+ is one of the most versatile robot vacuum and mopping options, providing the best buy roomba vacuum (such a good point) cleaning power for carpets and floors. It's also among the most intelligent robots on the market as it learns your home's floor plan while cleaning, and remembers that map for any future jobs, so you can always locate where you were. SmartScrub is the best in class for removing deep-seated dirt hair, pet hair and other messes. Dirt Detective is a brand new feature that detects and prioritizes areas that require of extra attention. Clean Base auto-fill keeps the dustbin and water of your robot full.
The i9+ also does an excellent job of cleaning up pet messes, with the only caveat is that it may miss some in particular deep litter boxes (we've seen this issue on other robots too). It's also fantastic at removing pet waste, but it may be unable to pick up some litter if your box is very deep (we've seen the same issue with other robots). The i9+ also is one of our top picks for cleaning bare floor surfaces. It's effective in removing various debris without leaving streaks, unlike some competitors.
iRobot has released a range of upgrades with this model that include the i7+'s outstanding performance as well as an updated design with a D-shaped that enhances its ability to navigate corners and edges. The software can be upgraded and allows users to transfer maps from an existing device or add new ones when needed.
Its interface is simple to navigate and provides various features that will aid you in managing your schedule and the device. It shows a helpful diagram that alters based on the current status of your robot (Ready Charging, Ready, or Working), plus an area that lets you see the details of your room map and even draw it to highlight specific areas you want your robot to focus on. You can also design an automated vacuuming schedule and select the rooms that your robot needs to clean.
