15 Reasons You Shouldn t Ignore Item Upgrade

WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the Item level upgrade that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item upgrader mod level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item upgrading's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is even if the items come from an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item upgrades is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them wisely. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
