The best robot hoover [my review here]

The best robot vacuum that mops robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detector) are both positives.

Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models also self-empty their onboard dustbin into a larger one at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic hoovers vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic cleaner and mop vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and more attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best automatic vacuum robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house based on how dirty those areas are.

For larger homes it's worth looking for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home using the app or via voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. Finally, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than the price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app also provides access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums with mop vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin for emptying.
