WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item upgrades level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon as well as the possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item Level upgrade upgrader at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require several methods, which is both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item upgrades level will cost less, even when they are part of a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced as well, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader kit in the proper steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item upgrader mod is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
