Guide To Item Upgrade: The Intermediate Guide In Item Upgrade
Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item upgrader mod's stats. Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be done through many different methods such as the use of upgrade items components and also increasing an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged, which could boost their stats even more.
Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide a variety of benefits, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components needed for an item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced using various methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded by the use of a prefix upgrade like an insignia or rune. Many are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any kinds of mods at all.
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a specific amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the highest value that a glyph could enhance a stat by, not the amount that it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item that you are enchanting.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
You can take out any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged with the glyph shards.
A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also apply the glyph to your equipment to give it an extra benefit. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who are taking a lot of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the item upgrade menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, however, players must be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items that do not have any alternatives to raise their ilvls.
Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's better to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow them to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an option to change the race in the future.
Leveling
There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the damage or heal of a given stat. The base item upgrader can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will keep its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When you upgrade items, it is important to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time, a better roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also opportunities for higher or more special rolls. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type you has a chance to get an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrades to items can be costly especially if you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel as well as the amount of upgrade levels. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade track and gain an additional effect. This will result in a significant increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking the effect of upgrading is increased by a factor of +3.
The iLevel will also change according to the upgrade path and its base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to a rare or exceptional item is likely to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
