So You ve Purchased Item Upgrade ... Now What
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the Best item upgrade as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
Upgraders for items are available in many places including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and a possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade must be acquired through a variety of means, which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with several new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific level of an item level upgrade, mouse click the following post, for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut also, but is only available when certain milestones are reached.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade item requires up to 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests can be exchanged with an Best item upgrade upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the Best item upgrader in the proper steps and pathways.
The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
