What You Should Be Focusing On Improving Robot Hoover
The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover
The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.
Make sure to check your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.
1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. For one, the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and quick navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer better cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.
You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when it's in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should satisfy most people.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys mop pads.
The smart robot vacuum that mops employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.
Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.
If you have a bigger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. A stairway mode is useful if you own a lot furniture. Finally, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that vacuum and mop that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is louder than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
