Upgrading gear increases its base stats and sometimes enhances its extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements, and the amount of random augmentations applied.
For instance, the premium racial shield Razortail is usually upgraded to improve its lightning absorb ability in PvP or to provide additional defenses on missile based designs in PvM. This makes it more exchangeable over the unupgraded version.
Reroll Tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to reroll an acquired item like a weapon, armor, or ring. This swaps the current item for a different one of the same type, with an additional set of bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective method to upgrade equipment. They don't preserve the original equipment's condition and any wasted resources will not be refunded.
Survivors may acquire reroll tokens through several means such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. Players can roll equipment with three categories: physical power, spell power and health. Upgrades to physical power boost damage from weapons and melee attack, while upgrades to spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades give the player an extra health.
Three types of reroll tokens are available: upgrade, rare and legendary. Each upgrade elevates the item to a higher quality. To create them, you'll need a higher-quality token to reroll. Upgrades require a common item. Rare upgrades require items that are either unique or legendary. Legendary upgrades require three legendary pieces.
The reroll marker, unlike other markers or tokens placed on action spaces, remains on the space till the next success is rerolled. This helps you avoid wasting upgrades.
Blueprints are envelopes which appear at the start of each preparation phase. They can be opened with Interact by grasping them. Once they are open they show a complete description and the icon of the relevant appliance or ingredient. Blueprints can be exchanged for a new Appliance or Ingredient in the restaurant's store for the amount of coins.
This means that blueprints can be moved between the Staple Pool (which is the default pool) and the Non-staple Pool when you run. This changes the blueprints that the restaurant's shop sells for rerolls and which are available in the Non-droppable Pool.
Growthstones
In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and accessories. These are special stones that can increase an item's level by increasing its stats and attributes. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs located in the main towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a price. To upgrade gear players must first locate the item and then click the "level up button".
