The best robot vacuum that mops (Related Homepag)
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other options, making it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic cleaner and mop vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.
It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help pull away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop rotates at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however this is something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a range of features.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be washed and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will determine how fast the device will traverse your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and carpets.
It's expensive, but has many smart features. It's important to remember that it carries periodic costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every three months.
This robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It has powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot vacuum with mop comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan that it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your house from being swept with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting hair from pets. It was able capture many of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was starting or finished its work.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app doesn't have the capacity to store multiple maps, which could be a problem when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum mop cleaner robot is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base has several control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't a big deal aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
